you can't save your own bacon
the sleeping draught didn't work
I dined on casseroled herbs
& spent another night
afloat on waking dreams
degendered dancing rainbow fish
your lumbar tattoo an enneagram
traipsed in lip-gloss and sherbet
I bought a grow bag
for our stifled hearts
& snuggled 'neath the tissage
of our new rewoven souls
scrape away this frail winter's edge
beneath lie flakes of primrose blue
